What is it

What is air duct services?

There's a point past which a duct system isn't worth cleaning or sealing — it's worth replacing. Sagging crushed flex, undersized runs choking the system, contaminated fiberglass liner that can't be cleaned, ductwork so leaky and so wrong that no amount of mastic will save it. Prime Chimney Experts re-ducts homes the way a premium contractor should: sized to Manual-D, built in durable materials, sealed and insulated correctly, and verified at the end. It's a craftsmanship job, and we treat it like one.

Why ducts fail, and why patching stops paying off: builder-grade flex sags and tears and collapses over a decade or two; runs that were undersized from day one create high static pressure that shortens equipment life and makes rooms uncomfortable no matter what you do at the thermostat; and fiberglass-lined duct that's grown mold can't be returned to a clean state — it has to come out. When you're sinking repair after repair into a system that's fundamentally wrong, replacement is the honest answer, and we'll tell you when you've reached it instead of selling you another patch.

Our re-ductwork starts with design, not demolition. We measure the system — static pressure and, where it matters, a Manual-D right-sizing so the new runs actually match the equipment and the rooms. Then we build it properly: rigid round or spiral sheet-metal hard pipe where durability and low static loss matter, R-6/R-8 insulated flex where flexible runs make sense, fabricated sheet-metal or fiberglass-ductboard plenums, takeoffs and boots set and sealed, and the whole system strapped and supported to code spacing so nothing sags again. Every joint is sealed with mastic and UL-181 tape, every attic run insulated to stop loss and sweating. We can convert failing flex to hard pipe, add or relocate supply runs to condition a hot or cold room or an addition, and resize a mis-sized system to fix the airflow and noise problems that no thermostat can.

The PCE finish is verification and documentation. We commission the new system — static-pressure and airflow checks, a Duct-Blaster leakage test to prove the new ductwork is tight — and document the build with photos before insulation and drywall hide it. You get a record of a system engineered and installed to a standard, not a pile of flex stapled into an attic. For a high-end home, that record matters at resale; for any home, it's the difference between comfort that lasts and a callback.

This hub covers full duct-system replacement and re-ductwork, flex-to-hard-pipe conversion, new supply-run and register additions for room add-ons, Manual-D right-sizing corrections, contaminated-liner removal and replacement, plenum-box fabrication and replacement, duct rerouting around remodels, and the duct insulation that finishes attic runs. It's the upgrade path when cleaning (D1) and sealing (D2) can't fix a system that's simply at the end of its life.

Because PCE is national and standards-driven, a re-ductwork job is held to the same engineering and verification in every market — a system rebuilt in Denver is sized, sealed, and tested exactly as one in Houston. You're not hoping the local installer knows Manual-D or owns a Duct-Blaster; you're buying the brand standard that earned its name on premium work. The premium is the engineering and the proof: a duct system that performs the day it's commissioned and stays that way.

If your ducts are failing rather than just dirty, call (682) 226-6257 for an engineered re-ductwork assessment.

FAQ

Common questions about air duct services.

How often should I have my chimney swept?

The NFPA recommends an annual chimney inspection (Level 1), with sweeping done when buildup reaches 1/8" of creosote. For active wood-burning fireplaces, that's typically once per heating season.

Are your technicians certified?

Our chimney inspectors hold current CSIA (Chimney Safety Institute of America) certifications, verifiable via the CSIA member directory at csia.org. We also have NFI specialists for fireplace installations.

Do you offer emergency service?

Yes — emergency response is available 24/7 (subject to crew availability) for active water leaks, animal trapped in flue, post-fire damage, and storm damage. Same-day in most cases.

Do you provide written quotes before work begins?

Always. We provide a written quote before any work begins, with photos of the issues we found. Final pricing depends on chimney condition and any additional work identified during inspection.

What's the Prime Program membership?

Prime Program is our annual maintenance program at $19.99/month ($240/year). Includes: annual Level 1 inspection and sweep ($248 value), priority scheduling, 10% off all repairs, and emergency response priority. Cancel anytime, no contract.
